Christmas Wishlist 2014

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 23.11.19

It feels strange, but this year I didn’t really have a lot to put on my Christmas wish list. It seams liberating; is this what growing up feels like?

But I did managed to put a little list of things I definitely wouldn’t mind finding underneath the Christmas tree together.

  • I’ve been lusting over a new camera for a few months now and have this is my favourite – Sony A5000. I think it would be perfect for taking with us on trips and vacations and it would also serve as an extra boost to take more photos.
  • During the last year there has been a noticeable growth in the Longchamp tote popularity. Every other fashionista seams to be carrying a form of the bag and you can’t deny the charm of the lightweight foldable contraption. I have my heart set on the Longchamp La Pliage Neo in black.
  • Don’t think I need to explain this – Topshop Teddy Robe. It’s soft, fluffy and with bear ears. Sold.
  • I am a lip product junkie and at the moment I own way too many lipsticks. But I’ve heard so many good reviews about the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Sexy Sienna and if Santa gets me one, I won’t complain.
  • Chanel CC earrings, a girl can dream. They are so small and dainty, I love earrings that you can wear everyday, but that still give you that little extra detail. (And you can’t go wrong with Chanel)
  • My recent fragrance obsession – Givenchy Dahlia Divin. I still love it and it would be amazing to get my hands on the little travel size spray.

What do you hope to find under the tree?

Handbag Essentials

I have always been a big bag lover – my Mulberry Bayswater is my favourite handbag and it holds everything I would ever need and it used to come with my everywhere. But recently I got my hands on the beautiful Whistles Rivington in the croc embossed leather (similar here) and it has change my life.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I still love and use my Bayswater, but on days when I’m only going to the shop down the road, or leave the house for a short journey I grab my Rivington. And since there is quite the size difference between the two I had to pick out my top must haves – the essentials.

The standard selection, that forms half the contents of the bag, contains phone, purse, keys – so I have my iPhone 5s, a Mulberry card holder (similar here), that I got in one of their outlet stores and my keys with a Louis Vuitton cles, that was an anniversary present, attached to them.

The other half can be grouped under the beauty product title. I have my NARS setting powder compact that doubles up as a mirror, I also carry my favourite perfume of the moment, Givenchy’s Dahlia Divin (it is absolutely amazing) and two lip products – Omorovicza’s Perfecting Lip Balm and Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Cherry, which is my ultimate everyday red lip choice – it’s moisturising, has SPF 15 and is red, what else would you need?

(In the last month my make up routine has also become much more laid back; if previously I couldn’t leave the house with out lining my eyes, then now I’ve been opting for a simple curl and mascara on my eyes and a red balm on the lips.)

What are your absolute handbag must haves?

Autumn Inspiration

Screen Shot 2014-11-09 at 16.17.34

The weather has finally changed and after a long period of sun and warm weather we have been thrown in to a wet and windy autumn, which, I’m a tiny but happy about, because the big chunky knits can finally come out and you can add an extra cup of tea in to your day just for staying warm.

For the past month I’ve been feeling really tired and I believe that it definitely shows in this post. All I can think about is comfort and relaxing.

H&M have released a few really nice 100% cashmere pieces and they are really reasonably prided. All of them are basics, which is right up my street and I would be lying if I said that only a couple of them are on my wish list.

Sticking with knits, I’ve been lusting over this ASOS Herringbone Scarf for the longest time. It’s oversized and fluffy – what more can you want?

Footwear wise I’ve been looking at two different items, both inspired by Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup. The first one is a pair of Ash boots. They are pricey and I don’t really tend to wear heals, but I really, really want them.

The second is a pair of Nike trainers. This is a trend I’ve been uninterested in for the longest time, but something has changed in my style preferences and now I really want them.

Another opinion change has happened regarding books. Ever since the Kindle came out I have been saying that I will always prefer a real book – you just can’t beat it. But there has been a boom in hardcover releases and almost every single book I want to reed and take with me on the train to work now weighs a ton. I already have a bad back, so I might look in to getting Paperweight.

The last item is something I already own. The Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm has been my go to lip product of the month, I absolutely love it! It’s super pricey at £32 a pot, but I had saved enough Pengo, to get it for free. If you can justify the money, it’s defiantly worth it.

How are you feeling this autumn?

The Most Beautiful Little Earrings by Matthew Calvin

This has to be one of my favourite recent discoveries. I had been looking for a pair of tiny bar earrings for at least six months and when I saw these rose gold studs from Matthew Calvin less then a week ago, I simply couldn’t resist. I think it took me a total of 2 minutes to place the order and after that I spent my time in anticipation and excitement. And they arrived today!

The packing is simply stunning! How could you not love the detail and tasteful simplicity of the little glass jar with the bow on top and, then, the most wonderful pair of earrings inside of it. They are so dainty and simple, but amazingly beautiful at the same time.

I can tell you now that these will be staying in my ears for a really long time. They are perfect for this weather (and any weather), as they give you the extra detail, but wouldn’t get in the way of big autumn scarves and jumpers.

I definitely recommend Matthews jewellery; it’s so beautiful and well presented, I already have a few more things on my wish list – look at these beautiful rings and necklace!

What’s your favourite piece of jewellery at the moment?

The Autumn Edit

Screen Shot 2014-10-20 at 14.03.52

It’s been a while, but I’m back. And it’s autumn.

It has to be one of my favourite times of the year. I love putting an extra layer on, additional cups of tea for keeping warm, candles and dark evenings with books. It also means that you can allow yourself to spend a little bit of money on new clothes, because you need them, right? Continue reading
